The hotel is housed in a neoclassical building, originally designed as a higher education school in 1895 by architect Hovsep Aznavur, commissioned by Mıgırdiç Sanasaryan. Today, the hotel seeks to offer authentic street experiences with a modern twist, creating an environment for cultural exchange in a setting that bridges East and West.

Il Prisma’s Destination team developed the concept “The Aura of True Istanbul,” centered around four brand pillars: Contemporary Rituals of Istanbul – Old Town Istanbul’s street tastes and vibe are reinterpreted with a modern twist, blending East and West into an international experience; Cultural and Inspiring Lounge – a calm, reassuring space invites guests to relax and learn more about the Sanasaryan Han school, enriching their knowledge and curiosity; Cabinet of Wonders – the Sanasaryan school’s heritage and innovative arts education are showcased throughout the hotel, creating a space filled with discoveries; Desire to Learn – originally built as a higher education school, Sanasaryan Han celebrates its history by curating works from poets, writers, and musicians, evoking the spirit of its former students.

The result is a hotel that presents itself as a cradle of learning and knowledge, a catalyst of positive, modern energy enhanced by the building's original purpose. It is the perfect place to enjoy culture, where guests and locals alike can find inspiration at the doorstep of Old Town Istanbul’s fascinating world.
